to recognize
the flames
burning her soul
each time he satisfies
her thirst for more
he goes on
running and running
and she’s left behind
with her wishful thinking
and some tears
kept aside
when the sun sets
she stays by his shore
and throws pebbles
aimlessly
to create their love song.
